 Riding The Wave Of Change

Feeling A Change

There's something in the air these days that tells me there are huge changes about to come … changes in the way the world and our lives operate. I feel it in my bones and in my skin, in every breath that I take and with each passing day and night. When I speak to other people, I hear how they too are sensing the deep unrest that precedes a profound upheaval. And at the same time there is a growing sense of excitement as something wonderfully new emerges onto the horizon.

Amidst escalating global events that threaten to collapse our political, economic and social foundations is an increase in the number of people who are working towards a brighter future.

As environmental disaster becomes a real possibility, so does the potential for a total turnaround in the way we use our energy resources. And side by side with rising stress and anxiety levels is an exponentially growing sector of the population who is awakening to their true power.

Choosing Our Future

As the polarisation of extremes increases so does the tension that will ultimately lead to breakdown or breakthrough!

There is no doubt - in my mind at least - that these are powerfully transformative and revolutionary times that we live in. And there are many others, from all walks of life, who agree.

Scientists, spiritual teachers, consciousness-researchers, astrologers, environmentalists, and many of those dubbed "cultural creatives," are all coming to the same conclusion: that we can choose our future.

The Mother-Wave

I've just been reading a fascinating book called Understanding the Future: A Survivor's Guide to Riding the Cosmic Wave by Lyn Birkbeck. He talks about the coming planetary influences over the next 12 years that have the power to destroy us if we succumb to our negative thought patterns or the power to uplift us into a new reality if we choose to change our belief systems.

This so-called 'Mother-Wave' is a major transit of Uranus and Pluto that affects us both personally and collectively. Uranus represents the God of Change and has been shown historically to usher in innovations in science and technology as well as sudden uprisings, revolutions and the quest for freedom.

Pluto represents the God of Transformation, in other words the death of the old and the rebirth of the new, and is linked to ecological upheavals, power struggles, and the bringing to light all that dwells in the darkness of our unconscious. Together, Uranus and Pluto make for a potent mix that is likely to turn our world upside down!

Those of us who are already on a path of awakening can feel these changes taking place as many subconscious limitations that have ruled our lives up until now are brought to the surface for clearing. It may feel as is some parts of our lives are falling apart but in the long-term this is a necessary healing process.

Interconnectedness

What is truly exciting is the new understanding of Quantum Astrology (as outlined in Lyn's book) which states that everything is connected and that the way we are in our personal lives has an effect on our collective reality. Another way of saying this is that the external mirrors the internal and every positive change we make on an inner level has a positive impact on our outer world.

The planetary signs are here to give us clues as to how we can harness our power for our own good and for the benefit of all humankind. This is a coming together of astrology and quantum physics that has huge ramifications for the understanding of how we create our own future.

Peace Begins Within

The Uranus-Pluto Mother-Wave between 2008 and 2020 shows us that we need to acknowledge that the darkness we see in the world is a reflection of our own inner darkness, that the conflict we see in the world is a reflection of our own inner conflict and that the changes we wish to see in the world are ones that we really need to make for ourselves in every aspect of our lives.

It is the war in our own psyches that we need to address, the rift between masculine and feminine within that needs healing and the embracing of both our pain and our ecstasy that we need to learn.

A truly peaceful world can only arise when we are truly at peace with ourselves. This is the core lesson of our times … and the next cycle of planetary patterns will assist us in learning this lesson.

We can fight against what we perceive to be "bad things happening in the world" or we can choose to open our hearts and surrender to the wave of changes. By having the courage to illuminate the world with our love - whatever the circumstances - we can raise the collective vibration and aid in the transition towards a world of peace and harmony.

By choosing to love ourselves, each other and everything that exists, we can become beacons of hope in a sea of uncertainty. What we do and how we are in relationship to everyone and everything is the key that unlocks our true spiritual power: it is up to each one of us to create a new world as we wish to see it.

In small ways and in large ways, we have the power to choose our future! If we can learn to surf the tidal wave of change, then we will not drown but instead we'll be carried forward safely to the shore on the other side.
